Located at 185 Asylum Street in Hartford Connecticut, City Place I stands 535 feet tall. It is a modernist skyscraper with a brown façade, and has 38 stories. The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP. It was constructed in the early 1980’s for CityPlace LLC and sold in 2007 to CommonWealth REIT for $99,000,000. It is primarily an office building, with major tenants including Bank of America and Wells Fargo. The building is also home to several retail shops.
On April 6, 2013, City Place it will host the American LungAssociation’s Fight for Air Climb.
